Architect, town planner and urban activist Revel Fox was born in Durban in 1924. After spending time abroad he settled in Cape Town and in 1962 established the architectural and planning partnership, Revel Fox and Partners. Projects include the Faculty of Education building, UCT, Eoan Group Cultural Centre and Joseph Stone Auditorium, Shelter housing in Valhalla Park, Cape Town, BP Centre, Bertram House, Meerlust and Groot Constantia restorations, Cape Provincial Administration Office Building, St George's Mall, and Anglovaal House. He died in 2004.
