Social documentary photographer Jenny Gordon teaches photojournalism at the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University.
Historian Marijke du Toit is based in the Faculty of Arts at the University of the Western Cape.

Mário Macilau (b.1984) lives and works in Maputo, Mozambique. He specializes in long term projects that focus on the social and environmental conditions in Mozambique. He has won several photography awards, including the 2015 European Union Award for Environment, the 2014 UNESCO-Ashberg Award for Artists, and the 2014 Africa Cantre Award for Visual Art.
