ROGER THE RAT

The first exhibition of Roger the Rat will be part of the European Month of Photography at ARTCO Gallery Berlin in October 2020. 

In these sixty black-and-white photographs, produced in Johannesburg between 2015 and 2020, Roger Ballen creates a persona, Roger the Rat.

Roger Ballen was born in 1950 in New York City and has lived in South Africa since 1982. His previous books include Asylum of the Birds, The Theatre of Apparitions and Ballenesque: Roger Ballen, a retrospective.
