A historical enquiry into the pirate attack on the unarmed Quaker ship Morning Star off Ascension Island, as it sailed from Table Bay, Cape Town, en route to Colombo. 

Michael Ford was raised in Africa and completed his National Service in the Royal Rhodesian Air Force, after which he was called to the Bar in England. He returned to Rhodesia in the 1970s, and later worked in Hong Kong, before returning to live in England in the 1990s.
