Daniël Louw served a minister in the Dutch Reformed Church in Cape Town in the 1970s, was Professor in the Faculty of Theology, Stellenbosch University, and Dean from 2001 to 2005. He is a researcher at the University of the Free State and North-West University. A former president of the International Academy of Practical Theology, he served on the International Council for Pastoral Care and Counselling from 2011 to 2015, and currently serves on the research committee of the international Society for Intercultural Pastoral Care and Counselling. He is the author of several books, including Daar is Méer, which won the 2024 Andrew Murray Prize.
