This major multi-disciplinary exhibition by the acclaimed Nigerian artist Otobong Nkanga explores the relationship between people and the land through our consumption of Earth’s natural resources.

Nkanga uses a wide array of media including tapestries, drawing, large-scale sculptures, photography, video and performance.

The catalogue includes a poem written by the artist, an extensive selection of photographs, which Nigerian novelist Helon Habila has responded to in the form of a short story, and a selection of Nkanga's existing work, including the installation From Where I Stand 2015/2019, as well as new sculpture, performance and wall drawing. Nkanga's finished works are shown alongside preparatory drawings and in-progress photographs, and an interview with Nkanga by curator Anne Barlow offers further insights into her practice.

Otobong Nkanga was born in 1974 in Kano, Nigeria, and lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2015, she won the Yanghyun Prize.
