A memoir by media specialist and political consultant Harald Parkendorf, former editor of the Afrikaans newspapers Oggenblad (1972-1979) and Die Vaderland (1980-1986). Parkendorf was dismissed from his position at Die Vaderland for his political views - he advocated for equal voting rights and for the realise of Nelson Mandela. In 1985 he was part of a delegation of business leaders and newspaper editors that met with the ANC in Zambia.
