A new collection of poems by Makhosazana Xaba, the author of the collections These Hands and Tongues of Their Mothers and the collection of short stories, Running and other stories, which won the 2014 SALA Nadine Gordimer Short Story Award. "Running", the short story, won the Deon Hofmeyr Prize for Creative Writing in 2005. Together with Karen Martin, she has co-edited Queer Africa (2013) and Queer Africa 2 (2017).
Makhosazana Xaba, who trained as a nurse, is a Writing Fellow at the Wits School of Public Health where she is working on a book on the history of nursing in South Africa.
