A biography of Black Consciousness stalwart Joyce Kalaote and her family by Natalia Sifuba, Kalaote's daughter. Joyce Kalaote, was a nurse, an active member of the Black Consciousness Movement, the Community Health Awareness Project run by Dr Abu Azvat, and a leader of the Mothers' Union of the Anglican Church. Her grandfather, Reverend Isaac W. Dyobha Wauchope, is known for his 'death drill' address, delivered in 1917 to those on board the SS Mendi before it sank.
