60 shipwrecks dating from 1698 to 2009 were surveyed in 2021 as part of a project to map the seafloor off the Western Cape. Each entry incorporates technical data, history, the circumstances of loss, and a description of the wreck in its current resting place, accompanied by diving photographs, archive images or paintings, and multibeam sonar images of the wrecks.

Lawyer and businessman Bruce Henderson is the founder of the marine research company, Wreckless Marine. He is a licensed PADI divemaster, an IANTD technical dive instructor, a SAMSA Category A (Offshore) skipper and an SAS Yacht Master.

Kelly Graham is an IANTD-qualified technical diver and holds a SAMSA Category C skipper’s certificate. To pursue her passion for local shipwrecks, she joined the Wreckless Marine team as a researcher. She also works as a legal consultant.
