South African author Kopano Matlwa's three novels in one volume.

Her first novel, Coconut, won the 2006/2007 European Union Award. Spilt Milk was first published in 2010 and Period Pain in 2016. She won the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa in 2010.

Matlwa is a medical doctor by training, completed a Master’s in Global Health Science and was awarded a doctorate in Population Health from Oxford University where she was a Rhodes Scholar. She is currently a Senior Program Officer, Health, Africa, at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and lives in Johannesburg.
