Busani Ngcaweni is Director of the Centre for Public Policy and African Studies at the University of Johannesburg and former Head of the National School of Government, having previously served in the Presidency as Head of Policy and Research and Chief of Staff to several deputy presidents. He is a DPhil Research Fellow in Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a Senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg and a Visiting Adjunct Professor at the Wits School of Governance. He is the editor of The Contested Idea of South Africa, Liberation Diaries II and African Literature and Intellectual Histories.
