Journalist Julian Jansen investigates the largely unsolved serial killings in Mitchell's Plain on the Cape Flats between 1986 and 1994. By early 1994 the bodies of 22 young boys had been found across an extensive area of sand dunes.

Schoolteacher Norman Simons was convicted of one of the murders in 1995, and in the public imagination he was the 'Station Strangler.' Simons was released on parole in 2023 under permanent house arrest. While many are convinced of his guilt, there are those who question the grounds on which Simons was convicted.
