Thomas N. Huffman is Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at the University of the Witwatersrand. His books include Snakes & Crocodiles: power and symbolism in ancient Zimbabwe and Handbook to the Iron Age: the archaeology of pre-colonial farming societies in Southern Africa.
