Ruud Lapré worked in health care as a researcher and Professor in Health Economics and Health Policy. He and his wife Marga Lapré van Achter founded the Lapré Foundation for the Promotion of Arts. They live in Haarlem, Belgium.

Mike Bruton was Director of the JLB Smith Institute of Ischtyology and Education Director of the Two Oceans Aquarium. Now retired, he runs a consultancy company, Mike Bruton Imagineering. His books include Harambee, the spirit of innovation in Africa; Curious Notions, reflections of an imagineer and Great South Africa Inventions.
