Sidney Littlefield Kasfir was Associate Professor of Art History and Curator of African Art at Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University in Atlanta. From 1981 she divided her time between teaching and curating in the USA and fieldwork in Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda. She edited the anthology West African Masks and Cultural Systems. She died in 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.
