Business tycoon and former lawyer Patrice Motsepe (b. 1962), the founder and chairman of African Rainbow Minerals, became a billionaire in 2008 - the first black African on the Forbes list. He is the owner of the football club Mamelodi Sundowns and in 2021 was elected President of the Confederation of African Football and Vice-president of FIFA.
