Duncan Clarke discusses fifty years of writing texts in various forms. His books include The Grandfather, Rhodesian saga, 1897-1941; Cecil Rhodes' Library; Zambesia, the literary safari; The Last Rhodesians, society adrift; Rhodes' Ghost: The conquest of Zambesia; Africa's Future: Darkness to destiny, and Africa: Crude continent: The struggle for Africa's oil prize. He established Royal Sable Publishing in 2021.

Duncan Clarke was born in Salisbury (now Harare) in 1948. He founded Global Pacific & Partners in 1978. The firm established the African Institute of Petroleum and the PetroAfricanus Club, published numerous works for private clients and distributed Worldwide Daily Oil & Gas News. Clarke undertook research on national oil companies and conducted strategy briefings as part of the firm’s global suite of oil and energy conferences. He lives in the UK.
