Biography of Peter 'Poison' Thage (b. 1954), who taught karate in Katlehong township. Thage graduated to black belt in 1975 and represented South Africa as a karateka at the World Games in Japan in 1979. Now a shihan, he is Vice President of the United World Karate Federation and a national technical director of Full-Contact South Africa. He has graded more than 20 black belt holders in South Africa and received a Steve Tshwete Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.
