Biography of Petrus 'Whitehead' Molemela (1933-2017), Honorary Life President of Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club.

Born at Sannaspos in the Free State, Molemela had no formal education and learnt to read and write as an adult. He built a business empire that included a construction company, owned several petrol stations, and became the first black man to own a hotel. In the early 1980s he bought the status of Mangaung United Football Club and renamed it Bloemfontein Celtic. As Chairman, he was in charge of the team between 1984 and 2001, when he sold his shares to former Celtic player Demetri 'Jimmy' Augousti. In 2015, the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Bloemfontein was renovated and renamed Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, in his honour.
