Mark Gevisser is the author of Portraits of Power: Profiles in a changing South Africa;, Lost and Found in Johannesburg: A memoir and The Pink Line, journeys across the world's queer frontiers. He co-edited the anthology Defiant Desire: gay and lesbian lives in South Africa. His journalism has appeared in The Guardian, The New York Times, Granta, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Review of Books.
