Frederik de Jager has worked as a language teacher, editor and publisher, has written articles and reviews, produced TV programmes and been a selector and judge for various literary awards. He is involved in writing schools, both in South Africa and on the island of Lesbos, where he now lives. He is the author of Man Op 'n Fiets Êrens Heen, 55 stories van mense onderweg (winner of the 2022 UJ Debut Prize and Eugène Marais Prize).
