Professor Hans-Volker Gretschel was involved in teacher education, the teaching of German as a first and as a foreign language, and in training translators in Namibia. He taught at the University of Namibia, where he was Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Studies from 2005-2007. Includes essays on literature, language development in Namibia and language teaching in sub-Saharan Africa.
