Popular history of the opposition to apartheid education in Lenasia and the wider Johannesburg area, from the 1950s to 1994.

Dor Ismail Vadi is an activist in Lenasia. He was a founder member of the Lenasia Youth League and the Progressive Teachers' League and National Vice-President of the South African Democratic Teachers' Union. He was elected as an ANC MP in the 1994 elections and served on the Portfolio Committee on Education for 12 years. He lectured in the Faculty of Education at the University of the Witwatersrand and is currently a Senior research Associate at the University of Johannesburg and an Adjunct Faculty at the Gordon Institute of Business Science at the University of Pretoria.
