Former lawyer Bettina Wyngaard is the author of Troos vir die gebrekenes (winner of the Jan Rabie Rapport prize) and the crime novels Vuilspel, Slaafs and Jagter. Currently, she is the vice-chairman of PEN Afrikaans. She lives and works in the Overberg.
