Tsitsi Mapepa was born in Zimbabwe and lives in Auckland, New Zealand. She studied at Manukau Institute of Technology, where she won the Kairangatira award in the BCA in 2018, before completing her Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Auckland in 2020.
