Timothy Jenkin's account of his 1979 escape from Pretoria Local Prison (part of the Pretoria Central Prison complex), along with Stephen Lee and Alex Moumbaris, using a series of handmade keys to the doors leading out of the prison. Fellow prisoner Denis Goldberg distracted the warden while the three made their escape, which took them to Mozambique and then to London. The memoir also covers his childhood in Cape Town, joining and being trained by the African National Congress in London, working as a 'pamphlet bomber' in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and his arrest and sentencing in 1978.
