The book, I Write What I Like, a selection of writings by Black Consciousness leader Steve Biko (1946-1977), originally published in London in 1978, translated into isiXhosa by Professor Peter Mtuze.

This edition features a new foreword by Nkosinathi Biko as well as the material of the original 2004 Picador Africa edition: a collection of Biko’s columns entitled I Write What I Like published in the journal of the South Africa Student Organisation under the pseudonym of ‘Frank Talk’; other journal articles, interviews and letters written by Steve Biko at the time; a preface by Archbishop Desmond Tutu (1996); an introduction by Nkosinathi Biko (2004), and a personal memoir by Father Aelred Stubbs, priest and confidante of the young Steve Biko.
