A collection of personal recollections by Swedes and South Africans on the relationship that existed between the South African liberation movements and the people of Sweden.

Contributors include Ronnie Kasrils, Rashid Lombard, Lindiwe Mabuza, Barbara Masekela, Don Mattera, Thandiwe Modise, Mongane Wally Serote, Madi Gray and Mai Palmberg.

South African academic, politician and diplomat Lindiwe Mabuza (1938-2021)  joined the ANC in 1975 and in 1979 was assigned by Oliver Tambo to open ANC offices in Scandinavia and to become the ANC's Chief Representative to Scandinavian countries. She was based in Stockholm, Sweden until 1986 when she was transferred to the USA.
