In 1969-1970 seven women, including Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, were held in solitary confinement in Pretoria Central Prison for more than a year and removed from their cells only for interrogation and torture. Includes interviews with four of these women - Joyce Sikhakhane-Rankin, Rita Ndzanga, Shanthie Naidoo and Nondwe Mankahla - all of whom refused to testify in the 'Trial of 22' in 1969.
