Amanda Gouws is Distinguished Professor of Political Science and holds a SARChl Research Chair in Gender Politics at Stellenbosch University. Her co-authored book with James Gibson, Overcoming Intolerance in South Africa: experiments in democratic persuasion, was awarded the 2003 Alexander George Book Award for best book in Political Psychology. She is the editor of (Un)Thinking Citizenship: feminist debates in contemporary South Africa (2005).

Olivia Ezeobi is a lecturer and PhD candidate in the Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University.
