Douglas Reid Skinner was born in Upington in 1949 and currently lives in Surrey, UK. He is the author of seven collections, most recently, Liminal, and an edition of new and selected poems, as well as numerous translations. He directed The Carrefour Press from 1988 to 1992 and was editor of New Contrast from 1990 to 1992. He is currently editor of Stanzas magazine.
