This publication follows A Scientific Bibliography of the Drakensberg, Maloti and Adjacent Lowlands (2020). It includes articles and publications dating back to 1875 and reaches as far as the Wolkberg and Woodbush near Tzaneen in Limpopo Province, the mountainous Barberton and adjacent Eswatini area, and the Leolo Mountains in eastern Sekhukhuneland. 

Rodney Moffett is an honorary research fellow of the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of the Free State, and an associate of the Afromontane Research Unit at the Qwaqwa campus. Before retiring in 2000, he was Professor of Botany at the Qwaqwa campus while it was part of the University of the North. He is the author of Sesotho Plant and Animal Names and Plants used by the Basotho, Basotho Medicinal Plants - Meriana ya Dimela tsa Basotho and A Field Guide to the Clarens Conservancy.
