Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo on the life of her father, the late Professor Stan Sangweni, and the family’s lineage rooted in Zuka on Suspence Farm, Newcastle, in what is now northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Prof Sangweni's grandfather was a member of The Syndicate of Twenty-two Natives, a group that secured land for their families and succeeding generations, at a time when Black people in South Africa were being systematically dispossessed of their land.
"Stan Sangweni left a legacy worthy of emulation by decent human beings. A legacy of humility and integrity, of striving against the odds, of patriotic duty to those who remain in the communities he understood so intimately." Mavuso Msimang, former Executive Director of SA Tourism and former CEO of South African National Parks
Hotelier Lindiwe Sangweni-Siddo is currently Chief Operating Officer of City Lodge Hotel Group, Executive Director of Freedom Square Hotel, Director of Zuka African Investment Corporation, and the founder of the intergenerational networking forum Pronet.
