Foreword by Peter Hain. Introduction by Ronnie Kasrils.

An autobiographical account of British internationalist Bob Newland's political activism over 60 years.

As a school boy Newland was a supporter of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and later was active in the British Communist Party and the Labour party. Involved in the Anti-Apartheid Movement, he was recruited by Ronnie Kasrils to carry out clandestine activity in support of the ANC and its military-wing Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK). One of sixty so-called ‘London Recruits’, he travelled clandestinely into South Africa in the 1970s to assist the banned ANC, setting off leaflet bombs.

"A working class hero to his fingertips" Ronnie Kasrils, former commander in MK and author of Armed and Dangerous

Bob Newland was born in 1950 in Bognor Regis.
