Siya Kolisi, the first black Springbok captain, made his national team debut  in 2013 and became the first ever black player to lead the Springboks in June 2018. He captained the team at the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups, becoming the first South African captain to lift the Webb Ellis trophy twice.
