Zimbabwean writer Dambudzo Marechera (1952-1987) is the author of the collection of short stories, House of Hunger (1978), winner of the 1979 Guardian Fiction Prize. Two novels, Black Sunlight (1978) and The Black Insider (1980), were published posthumously.
