Rebeka Njau's first novel. 

Playwright and novelist Rebeka Njau was born in 1932 in Kiambu County, Kenya. She founded the Nairobi Girls School in 1964 and worked as an editor at Target, the magazine of the National Council of Churches in Kenya. She currently lives in Nairobi. Her books include the one-act play, The Scar; the novel The Sacred Seed; a memoir, Mirrors of My Life, and the non-fiction work  Kenya Women Heroes and their Mystical Power (with Gideon Mulaki).
