Melanie Finn was born and raised in Kenya and the United States. She is the author of four novels including The Gloaming and The Hare. Her work in a remote area of Tanzania as the writer and producer of the film, The Crimson Wing, led her to found Natron Healthcare, an NGO focused on bringing health education and sustainable health service to under-resourced rural communities in eastern Africa. She lives in northern Vermont.
