Steve de Witt on serving as an ordinary conscript in the South African Defence Force during the Angolan Border War.

"Bush Brothers is an authentic, readable account of the events of that time, and the camaraderie that bonded the men of our infantry company. Filled with drama and humour, this book will resonate with many conscripts who served in the Border War." Major Stan Bezuidenhout, South African Infantry (Retired)

de Witt was conscripted into the South African army in 1981 when he was 18 years old. Now retired, he lives in Cape Town. Recently, he traced many of his fellow conscripts via social media and arranged an in-person reunion.
