Liezel de Jager, senior pastor at the NG Suidkruis church in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, was murdered in the driveway of her home in October 2021. After a successful court case against the Minister of Police and the South African Police Service, Liezel's husband, Werner, was arrested in December 2022 and charged with her murder.
