This political thriller, set during the Cold War, moves from the backstreets of Beijing to the border between Zimbabwe and South Africa, and weaves together international espionage, political intrigue, and the threat of nuclear devastation across three continents.

Fallout is excellent. Not only the political line but also the narrative and style."   Rt. Hon. the Lord Kinnock

Anti-apartheid campaigner and British politician Lord Peter Hain was born in 1950, grew up in Pretoria, and was forced into exile with his family in 1966. In 1969-1970 he led campaigns to stop all-white South African sports tours. Currently a Labour member of the House of Lords, he was a Labour MP from 1991-2015, a government minister for 12 years, a key negotiator of the 2007 Northern Ireland settlement, has served as Foreign Minister for Africa, the Middle East and Europe, and chaired the UN Security Council. In 2015 he received the OR Tambo National Award in Silver for his contribution to the freedom struggle. In 2017–18 he used parliamentary privilege to expose money laundering and corruption involving global corporates under then president Jacob Zuma, and gave evidence to the Zondo Commission. He is the author of 29 books, including the thrillers The Rhino Conspiracy, The Elephant Conspiracy and The Lion Conspiracy.
