A collection of essays that span the transition from apartheid to the post-apartheid period.
"In examining seminal moments in her 80 years, Sindiwe Magona gifts the nation and the world a raw, unapologetic dissection of a hard but triumphant life. Readers will do themselves a great disservice if they do not contemplate her musings. They moved me greatly." Zubeida Jaffer, author of Love in the time of treason
"Magona does not speak for the marginalised, she amplifies their voices. This collection of essays, flowing from the pen of one of South Africa’s foremost socially committed authors, provides a profound sense of social consciousness and unparalleled wisdom." Siphiwo Mahala, editor go Imbiza, journal for African writing
