Profesor Edwell Kaseke (1954-2017) was Professor and Director of the School of Social Work at the University of Zimbabwe. In 2009 he accepted a Chair of Social Work in the School of Human and Community Development, Department of Social Work, University of the Witwatersrand, and was Head of the Department for six years. He was a founding member of the Core Group of Social Security Specialists in Southern Africa and the Southern African Social Protection Experts Network.

Dr Mathias Ahu Tako Nyenti (1974-2018) was Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Johannesburg. He was one of the founding members of the Southern African Social Protection Experts Network Advisory Board and Steering Committee.

Letlhokwa George Mpedi is Professor and Executive Dean, Faculty of Law, and Director of the Centre for International and Comparative Labour and Social Security Law, University of Johannesburg.

Evance Kalula is Chairperson, International Labour Organisation Committee on Freedom of Association; Emeritus Professor of Law, UCT; and Fellow, Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study.
