Willem Anker (b. 1979) is the author of the novels Skepsel, Siegfried and Buys (winner of the University of Johannesburg Fiction Prize, the WA Hofmyer Prize, the kykNET-Rapport Prize and the Hertzog Prize). Translated into English as Red Dog, it was longlisted for the Booker Prize. He has also written several plays, and teaches creative writing at Stellenbosch University.
