Ear, nose and throat specialist Dr Peter Friedland spent most of his career in South Africa where he was clinical head of the department of ENT at the University of Witwatersrand Donald Gordon Medical Centre. He served as a member of Nelson Mandela’s medical team and helped to monitor his hearing from 2001 until 2008. He now lives and works in Australia.
