Elsa Pooley has designed and landscaped public and private gardens using indigenous plants for over five decades. She is the author of numerous plant field guides, a botanical artist, and the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Geoff Nichols  is a horticulturist, garden designer and natural historian. He is the author of several books and a principal contributor to the Flora Publications Trust Field guides.

Andrew Hankey  is a specialist horticulturist at Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Johannesburg.
