Kweer and trans-disciplinary poet Shane van der Hoven was born in Benoni, grew up in the Lowveld, and currently lives in Cape Town. They are teaching at the School of Languages and Literatures, University of Cape Town, and are a co-editor at New Contrast literary journal. Kruiper-Crawler is their debut poetry collection.
