A searing exploration of the complex relationship South African society has with its Black and Coloured men and boys.
Dr Masito examines the interlocking crises facing Black boys and men in a society where positive masculine role models are scarce; and where there are educational disparities, mental health struggles, pervasive violence, and fractured relationships. He discusses how the repercussions of individual trauma affect families, schools and communities, and outlines what can be done by parents, religious institutions, educators and the media,
Mzamo Masito is co-founder of the NPO, African Men Care, dedicated to transforming men’s mental health, family leadership, and accountability across Africa.
