Hans Friedrich Heese on the role played by people of mixed European, Oriental and African descent at the Cape of Good Hope.

From 1976 to 1998 Heese was a lecturer-researcher at the Institute for Historical Research, University of the Western Cape. He has been University Archivist at Stellenbosch University since 1999.
